About Us

Who is Poieo Design?
We are web design company specializing in content management systems for churches, faith-based non-profits, and christian businesses. Currently, we are a partnership consisting of three individuals: Chad Seabright, Ben LaPlace, and Dave Heffron. We started out as a means to supplement our income but soon grew into a full-time expression of who God is in our lives.

What's with the name?
Poieo is a greek word defined in its simplest form as "to make or to do". But, as with all greek words there is much more to the concept. Poieo can further be defined as "to produce, to bear or to shoot forth". In the New Testament, poieo is used to describe a tree bearing fruit. We all 'poieo' something…that is we all are producing, bearing or bringing forth something God has created inside of us. Poieo Design began because we, its members, came together and began producing, bearing or bringing forth the creative expression that God placed within us.

Why do you do it?
We realize that God is the creative one, and He allows that creativity to flow through His body and its members. For many years, we as the church have tried to replicate and/or do creativity instead of allowing the creative one to flow His creativity through us. It is our intention to bring the creative process back to its source...the only true Creator. To do that, the church must return to its responsibility as the center of creativity (the arts) in our culture. We want to aid that movement. We want to walk beside those who make a positive impact on their community and their world. We want to express the creative power of Him and Him alone.
